problem using line 6 ux1 with mixcraft

could someone help me out i am using a line 6 ux1 sound card, i have used with other programs such as cubase and reason but not with mixcraft the problem i am having is that it will only let me record at 8 bit and the sound qaulity at this setting is not good could someone tell me the reason why it will only let me record at 8 bit when the card is capable of 32
