recording drums

Hey, new to the board here. Im trying to record my Roland TD9 kit, I have a midi to usb connection and Im also using EZdrummer. Mixcraft is picking up the sounds from EZdrummer, but when I hit record, the sounds still play but arent laid out onto the track. Im also having trouble getting EZdrummer to recognize the kit. I am using an external midi mapper, and it is recognizing the kit. obviously that would probably be a question for them as its a different company but I figured I would write it out incase anyone knew any fixes through personal experience.
