Time Signatures

I'm having a lot of trouble getting a bit more complex time signatures to work in Beatcraft. Currently the one I'm trying to use is 13/8. In every program I use, the rhythm fits in 13/8 and I know how to count and the rhythm is in 13/8, but beatcraft creates a wrong amount of steps or something. It's waaaay too long to fit the rhythm in. I don't understand what the problem is. I've gone back over and over and I'm not making any mistakes in counting the rhythm or putting it into beatcraft.
