Plugin Stopped Working

Post by timakers »

It just stopped showing up in Mixcraft. Yes, I do have the full version. It is fully paid for. No, I did not mess with the VST folder, nor did I mess with Pianissimo neither. I went to "Insert Instrument Track" and it was not there. When I went to start the application by going through the 'Start' menu, the icon was no longer available. It did start though, just not in Mixcraft.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi,

Check your VSTignore.ini file, which is in this folder for Windows 7 and Windows Vista:

C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft

Use notepad to edit it and remove the Pianissimo line if it is listed in the file, then save it and see if Pianissimo loads.

I did some more research, and found this: http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/history.htm

"Now uninstalling Pianissimo.dat for Pro Studio"

Would this explain why the plugin has stopped working?

Hi,

Only if you uninstalled Mixcraft Pro Studio and then didn't install Pianissimo again. You can try just downloading and installing Pianissimo again, if you haven't already done that.

The pianissimo.dat file contains the piano sounds, so that does need to be there with pianissimo.dll.

Thank you. I downloaded it, installed it, and used it. That totally fixed the problem. It's funny, I just graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, and for some reason, the one time I doubt re-installing something actually works, does.

Oh, Pianissimo! I missed you so.
Please don't leave again; please no.
If there was an eternity, I shall play you a symphony;
for you alone, provide me just enough polyphony.
And when that last byte echos with finery,
I will be there, to nurture you, my whimsical binary.

Okay, so I got carried away.

Thanks for the support,

Tim
