Shred Amp Simulator

Post by skowog »

Hi guys, I just tried out the Shred Amp simulator and I was blown away! The tones are dead on plugged straight into my audio interface...I don't think I will have much use for my real amp!
Great job!
One suggestion, though. Will you guys be making tones for bass guitar or a bass amp simulator in the future? As good a a job as you guys did on the guitar amp, I can only hope for a similar product for bass guitar. I have tried a few free ones I have found online, and they are okay, but I am hoping that you might consider adding this feature to your arsenal in the future! :)

a bass sim would be nice. :D
I've been using a Boss sd-1 set for clean boost then onboard eq & pultronic eq w/ the output up for a nice Ampeg blues bass kind of sound.

I don't go in for shredding, and I've not yet found a guitar amp VST that's completely satisfactory. However, the nearest thing I've found so far is the JCM9000 (Marshall Twin Reverb). It comes as part of a free suite of effects and has an uber-basic interface.

There is a piece of software I'd like to try called TH2 by Overloud, although it's not free. It's being used on this video:

Have you tried Amplitube3? The free version has some bass sims. The download link for the free version is on the left side of this page.

Also, the free Voxengo Boogex is included in Mixcraft. It shows up as "Voxengo Amp Simulator" in your effects list.

With that said, you can get some good bass sounds with just about any compressor and eq. Try the Pultronic Tube on it.

Not free, but here's one that Eric recommends http://www.studiodevil.com/products/virtual_bass_amp/

He must be right, he's the boss.
