Anyone know offhand why this happens? I don't have specific PC details as they are on a school network, but I suspect that could be part of the problem.

Does it happen with any MP3 file, or just that one? Try loading it again, then quit Mixcraft and send us your mixcraft-log.txt file, which is located in this folder:
%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft
Another way to find it is to click on the Windows Start Menu, select All Programs, then Acoustica Mixcraft 5 and finally Logs. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

Hey Greg, I'll try another mp3 first. If it happens again I"ll send you a log. I am using Mixcraft5 in a high school computer lab, I have 20 seat licenses through SoundTree.
