I took a pre recorded song from a cd its 12 minutes long loaded into mixcraft tried to delete the first 6 minutes but the rest I want but somehow I cant bring the rest of the song to the beginning of the track to just record and burn that portion onto a new cd?
what am I doing wrong?

Never done this before but of the top of my head:
Mix the track down to a wav.
Bring the wav back into MC and see if you can do what you want that way?

Split the track where you want it to start, then delete the bit you don't want. You'll then be able to shift the remainder to the start.
