Choral Loops

Post by Scott Kane »

Hi folks,
I've just discovered and purchased MixCraft and am *very* impressed - well done Acoustica! I've used Sonar Prod and Sony Acid Pro for years and while Sonar is a good mastering tool it's really unco for the kind of work I do (voice over), though I may use continue it for mastering. Acid Pro on the other hand is totally useless since I upgraded my system - seems to be a Direct X problem and Sony support are useless. Enter MixCraft - a somewhat well kept secret!

I'm looking for some decent choral loops - the ones I've found via Google are either incredibly expensive, have bad reviews (Garageband's choral loops seem to be rather poor reportedly) or are created using a synth and most of them don't cut it. If anybody knows of any that are half ways useable (don't mind paying but $499 for a choral loop CD is a show stopper) please do let me know!

Keep up the great work Acoustica! :D

Wow, $499 for a cd of loops? Yes I would pass too :-)
I think the best you can do is to google it in different ways, eventually you might find a set of loops that is also a well kept secret.
Other than that, I don't know of any.
I know there is a set of sound apps called Smartsound, they come with boat loads of sounds but also very expensive.
good luck!

Hi Eric,
Thanks for replying. Yep. Still Googling various combinations. I'll check out Smartsound.

Still blown away with Mixcraft. It is a wonderful product. You should do a little more marketing, there's a lot of people looking for this application but don't realize it. Audacity is a bit of a joke and I'm sure a bunch of people would toss it for Mixcraft. I moderate comp.software.shareware.announce (along with the two other sister groups), it might be a free starting point. I do appreciate how hard it is to be a MicroISV and market at the same time though.

Cheers and keep up the good work!

Hi Scott..... here's a link to a few not too expensive CD's that you might find interesting..... you can listen to all the tracks all the way through... although you will need Flash for the site

Holy cow, I think you'll need flash installed twice for that site, and a 1GB video card.
They do have a very nice selection of cd's, I think i could sit there and browse that for hours.

These are very cool and I've bookmarked it. Fantastic stuff and handy for the future. Thank you!! For the present project I need the choir to be something like a four bar loop in one key. I'll keep hunting but might have to settle for scoring it in midi and using a soft synth.

Thanks Again! That site will be handy for future work and a time saver.

LOL. I never understood what web site designers didn't understand in respect of their customers probably not having the same level of gear as they use themselves.
