Mixcraft 7 control surface Midi learn issue

Post by zzgani »

Hi,

I'm using axiom 49 1st gen as my midi controller. Previously in MC6 using MIDI learn I had an option to create new virtual instrument using the controller ( even now it is there) and arm the new track as well. Now I'm not able to arm the current track in MC7.

Also previously in MC6 i was able to arm, control volume, pan etc for the currently selected track which was very useful . But now I have only 8 fixed tracks and their properties to be assigned which is a huge set back for me with my axiom controller. Is there any work around for this as it is affecting my work flow badly ?

To get back to the way Mixcraft 6 was, go into your MIDI Control Surface dialog. (Under the "Mix" menu.)

Set the number of faders to 1. Also, on the left, you'll see categories. Choose "User Interface" and you'll see the option to create a new virtual instrument track.

Hope this helps!

Yes I can see the option to insert new virtual instrument. But there is no option to arm the current track . This option was present in MC6.

If you set the number of faders to one, then MIDI operations will affect the current selected track, just like with Mixcraft 6.

The Arm command will be in the "Track 1" category.

I have a Launch Key Mini, and finally got it to work by setting as Macie, and then doing midi learn for everything. It's not perfect, but it does work.

Edit: Joe and Dan, thanks for the tip! I just tried that, and that method frees up some faders on my rather limited Launchkey mini.... Thanks!
