Where is Mixcraft7 Pro Studio download ??

Post by Andrew Jeffries »

This is strange. I downloaded a demo a month ago of Mixcraft 7 and I loved it. The budget frees up and I buy Pro Studio today. I register it and finish a pject begun with the demo. While mixing down a MP3 it crashed. Tried again and crash. Hmm. Weird. Maybe it would be better to download the 64-bit version but I can't find it on the Acoustica website. It gives me a Mixcraft 7 downloader and I run and type in my registration info but it tells me I am using the incorrect installer for Pro Studio and it doesn't give me any link to download the correct installer.

Yes, I wanted to make music right now! LOL and this is only a minor frustration.
What am I missing? where do I download the 64-bit installer for Pro Studio?

Thank you for any and all help.

Peace,
Andrew

I am downloading Mixcraft 7 Pro Studio installer from my registration email.
To kill time I launched Mixcraft 6 and began a New project.
I deleted some Audio tracks and Inserted a Virtual Instrument track.
I chose drums (Standard Kit 2) and double-clicked the track to create a blank
measure of MIDI piano roll. The left margin used to tell me which drums were
assigned to each line on the piano roll. Today it is different. It only shows keyboard
keys.

I have been very supportive of Mixcraft and have shared numerous session videos
on FB and youtube. I love Mixcraft. Today it seems it doesn't love me.
It can't be the software. I must have done something here.
Please help me figure this out.

Peace,
Andrew

Did you by chance uninstall Mixcraft 7? Were you by change running a build earlier than Build 251?

There was an issue with the early release where uninstalling Mixcraft 7 could remove the drum maps from Mixcraft 6. Just reinstall Mixcraft 6 and everything will be back to normal.

You can download Mixcraft 6 again here: http://www.acoustica.com/downloading.php?p=76

Yes I uninstalled 7 when the crashes occurred. I had originally downloaded and installed the 32-bit demo if I'm not mistaken. Yes, I saw a post about the M6 drum issue. I launch M6 and click update and it says I have the latest and the greatest.

So, what would be the proper sequence here for installs?
M7 PS is almost done downloading.
Should I let it finsh downloading, the reinstall M6.251 and then install M7PS?

I appreciate your time and help, Dan.
Thank you so very much!

Oh, and will the installer I am downloading from my registration email link
help me choose to install the 64-bit version?
Something is missing here. Can't help but feel I'm overlooking something
right in front of my face.

The order doesn't really matter, but the order you listed is fine.

The installer will ask you if you want to install 32-bit or 64-bit. You can install both by running the installer twice. You can have both versions installed at the same time if you'd like.

Does that answer your questions?

You're help is right on, Dan. Thank you.
Rather than ask you about 64 vs 32-bit I'll look on the
Mixcraft website and try to figure out why I have the idea
that 64-bit is better. BTW - it is very cool that I can run
32 AND 64-bit VSTs with M7 Pro. I do so love my VSTs! LOL

Andrew,

From my experience running both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Mixcraft 7, the matter of which one to run comes down to which resources are most taxed by your projects.

If it seems like you're running out of RAM for plug-ins and sample banks, then 64-bit will allow you to access more than 4G if your system has it.

If CPU usage is more of an issue, AND you are using a lot of instances of 32-bit VST's (and most of the ones bundled with Mixcraft are still 32-bit), then 32-bit might be a better bet.

Me, I keep both of them installed, but usually start projects with 64-bit. If the use of 32-bit plug-ins bogs it down, I can switch over to 32-bit.

Ooh. My curiosity is piqued. Thank you, Dan.
Pro Studio is working just fine. Stuck with the 32-bit.
The first project "Patience" was completed in 8 hours
and I am posting a video (made in M7 PS) on youtube.

Please tell your buds at Acoustica. It is dedicated to all of you.
Peace and have a great New Year!
Andrew
