Automatic Mix Down/Bounce - Is it Possible? Help!

Post by Ted Papas »

Hi there, I desperately need some help here or a point to the right direction!!

I æm not sure if what I want to do is doable, but it needs to be done!

I need to be able to automatically produce an audio file, something like a news bulletin. What I need to do is combine (Bounce/Mix Down), a certain music MP3 file which will be the background music of the News bulletin, with 7-8 MP3 segments which will be spoken audio.
Is there anyway to do that automatically via a script or any other way?

Steps needed : (the way I imagine it)
1) Load MP3 Music File (say 2 minutes long)
2) Load 7 MP3 News Segment Files (say 90 seconds long altogether of various lengths each)
3) Evenly space the News Segment Files within the MP3 Music File
4) Mix Down / Bounce all of them
5) Save Bounced Mix to a specific MP3 filename, with specific output settings ie. 128/44/stereo

It would be even better (much much better) if all that can happen from command line!
I donÆt care which software to use, IÆm totally open to suggestions!

Please help!

Best Regards,

Ted

Hi Ted,

We don't have anything that would automate that process.

You might want to check out our Mixcraft 4 software anyhow:

Greg, thanx for replying and happy valentines!!
Since all this stuff is just a few subroutines and few dll calls (to put it very simply :D ) and you do have all of them laying around!!!
Do you think you can custom create this for me at a price of course?!
Basically what I'm asking is a 95% stripped down version of Acoustica.
To tell you the truth I don't even need the GUI...
Let me know pretty please!

Hi,

I'm guessing the answer would be no, because it would probably cost more than you're willing to pay to have our staff work on this project, and we're busy developing our mainstays (like Mixcraft 4) anyway.

You should try doing some Googling and see if there's an existing product that can do what you want.

Oh I did Greg... I did and re-did and nothing... And I realize that what I'm asking is easy but really hard to find ready made...
Oh well, if...and I say if... you come across a solution drop me a line...
I appreciate your replies anyway!

Regards
