This is not a problem with SIA, but I'm hoping to fix it, with SIA. I do lots of cassette to CD for teachers. One cassette has problems with cross talk which I know that SIA can't deal with. The other problem is that the volume of the source material drops out at about 1 second intervals. I've used the other transport in my dual deck. Same issue. I've inspected the case and the felt pressure pad. All seems to be good. I've tried the normalization settings in the "Settings" misc tab, but they have no effect on the recording on the file. I, usually, record with "no normalization." Will recording the cassette, again, using the normalization settings be effective? Any help with this is appreciated. School budgets being the way they are, it wouldn't be possible to purchased CDs of this material, even if they are available.
Thanks!
Charlie

Re: gain dropouts
Hi,
I don't think normalization would help with this problem. I'm not sure what else to suggest, aside from trying different players.
