Speed correction

Post by TheDailyVinyl »

Using Mixcraft 6 (build 217) o na PC. I recorded a 45 rpm record at the 33 1/3 speed which helped with a couple places where it skipped before. I changed the time stretch to 74.1% but the pitch doesn't adjust correspondingly. How do I lock the time and tempo for a speed correction adjustment? (I could also use this when fixing old cassette recordings that may have stretched over time.)
Thanks!

Once you've adjusted the tempo, use MC's pitch correction on the clip.

thanks for the reply. do you have any idea idea how to convert a % to the semitones? Specifically, an increase of 74.1%.

No, but trial and error shouldn't be too difficult. Import the track at 45rpm and use it as reference.

this page seemed to help (if anybody else could use this):
http://users.utu.fi/jyrtuoma/speech/semitone.html
I set F1 to 74.1
and F2 to 100
and the result was: 5.18945462827504 which, when playing, sounds correct.
