Post by UilleannB »

Just finished my first track on the new music computer. Live editing sure is nice :-D

Not sure how to describe the style. Folk-Soul-Fusion? Hope you like it. Enjoy!

I'm not sure how I'd categorize this either, so I thought "folk-jazz-fusion" was a good way to describe it. I like this piece! What is the instrument carrying the lead melody? Works well, with a nice solid bass line to anchor it. Thanks! Rick. :D

Thank you. - The lead instrument is an Uilleann Pipe, that's where the "Folk" came from, although it's not really folk-style.

Of course, I should have known it was Uilleann pipe, I'm just not used to it being played in this context! Great sound. I was a huge fan of Paddy Keenan and Bothy Band in the 70's. I've heard some stunning duets with fiddle and pipes, and it serves to remind me what a wonderful instrument it is. Kudos for keeping the tradition alive and integrating that sound into modern music. Thanks again, Rick.

Thanks, Rick. There are quite a lot of modern bands that incorporate pipes into all kinds of styles. But yes, it's one of the coolest instruments ever made ;-)

Glad you liked it, Tom.
