Spin it Again Crashing

Post by geobee »

Hi all, sorted the track marker issue by just separating them manually, but now I have a new issue, as I am splitting the tracks up, say, around a dozen or so, it crashes and I lose everything, very frustrating. Wouold it be wise to delete the program and do a new install maybe? Any ideas would be good.

Not a reply but I have the same problem---
Here is the situation:
I downloaded/installed the trial version of SIA hoping to be able to salvage an old reel to reel tape. The tape was recorded at 1 7/8 and my deck will not go that slow. Having used SIA several years ago, I knew that it had a feature to slow things down. I copied the tape (both sides of an 1800ft tape) thru my line in using SIA and saved it to the hard drive. It was a VERY large wav file
(1,942,085 KB). I converted it to mp3 for editing. After conversion it was only 528,462 KB.
The tape is a series of daily recordings of Paul Harvey from 1971.
The wav and the mp3 files will play fine using SIA or any other program.
I want to edit the file so I can make a seperate track for each days recording and edit out some of the ads.
After I create several tracks, the program crashes and I have to start over again.
My system is AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics running at 3.20GHz. 16GB memory and Windows 10 64bit.
I would really like to purchase this program to use on other projects but not if it keeps crashing and I can't get done what I need to do.
Not sure if I should import a little bit of the recording at a time or what. Maybe you or someone on the list can give me some hints.
Thanks very much for any help on this.

Hi,

You already own Spin It Again, so you don't need to buy it again. I'll send you your registration email.

What are you doing when it crashes, exactly? If it's happening when you click on the name of the track on the Preview & Edit screen, then don't do that - wait until you get to the Name Your Recording screen.

Hi Greg,
I will run the program again and make notes of what I am doing and what happens and post the results.
Thanks for the reply.
I know I bought the program a long time ago, but that was a long time ago!

Our philosophy is this: If you buy a toaster, why would GE ask you to buy it again in 4 years if it still works?

Well, that is my own rendition of our philosophy anyway :-) The point is, we don't think you should have to buy the same thing twice.
