Nice outteh! :D

A big improvement - the guitar is sounding great and nicely spaced. Nice effort.

I think a lot of people forget that Mixcraft can also be used as a video editor:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR61IAsf3oo

Music made with Mixcraft (using a few external VSTs) mastered and all.

Video also made with Mixcraft, using only an external program for embedding the text at the beginning and end of the video. I used WinAmp's visualization studio plug-in to generate the electronic graphics, the rest was recorded on video by using my Samsung S3 smartphone and a Fuji HD camera.

The external VSTs I used are my good old faithful Korg M1 VST and Sytrus from FL Studio 9 by using the ReWire function.

On my wish list for the next version of Mixcraft:

Built in ability to embed text.
Support MP4 video format. (I had to transcode everything from my smartphone)
A better preview video window. By better I mean drop the quality but prevent it from being choppy.

BTW, the mysterious Acoustica Virtual Instruments changing around by themselves problem happened again. I suspect it's due to the CASIO keyboard I use dropping into "demo" mode when I don't press any keys on it for a while, and somehow sending a random command to Mixcraft.

I have to change the MIDI settings for Mixcraft to only use channel 1, see if that helps.

Well this is my effort.
My take on Knocking on heavens door...

Didnt take long to do as I've not had much time really but i wanted to have a go after listening to what you guys have posted. Some awesome stuff!

I didnt do vocals because I didnt want to subject you guys to pure torture!

Drums are played on an electric kit using Ezdrummers drumkit from hell.
Guitars are all played by myself using Line6's podfarm.
Bass, Strings and piano are all virtual instruments.

If you're really bored you can listen/watch the below...
Its a cover of song by a band called Mayday Parade. I did the video and song in Mixcraft a while with my out of tune 5 stringed guitar. Its pretty rubbish...

I regret to inform you that it's not rubbish. I quite enjoyed it.

I wish I had enough talent to play an instrument and sing simultaneously.

I can't.

If it weren't for multi-track devices like the Fostex 4 track back in the 1980s, and more recently for (the likes of) Mixcraft, I'd still be humming along in my shower.

I agree with the Lord here - I quite enjoyed them both. You should put vocals on the Knocking on Heavens Door track too.

Nice effort and thanks for sharing.

FINAL REMINDER

Just one more day to go guys :D

The March challenge must come to an end on Sunday.

So far we have 19 excellent submissions from 16 Mixcrafters.

So now's your final chance to sneak one under the wire.

Alright, I have one, just a simple thing I threw together for practice arranging and mixing. Unfinished, needs a little polish, but I haven't really spent a lot of time on it.
Ok, no more excuses. Hope you like it:

EDIT: Added second version. After hearing it playback on Soundcloud I went back and did a few tweaks to the mix. High pass filters, a little beefing up of a couple of tracks with additional compression, reduced the reverb a touch on a few, filtered out a little mud. Still a little bright and not quite there, but better I think.

Kind of leaves ya hanging and wanting more doesnt it?

Wish I could take credit for the guitar track. Thats a Mixcraft library loop right there!

Kind of dig the way that one came out though, still makes me tap my foot and groove along every playback!

Now you're getting technical Gypsy

Let's make it midnight in the most westerly North American time zone.

If someone can confirm what that will be...

Loving the track BTW well done Gypsey!
