W7 64bit render problem

[conundrum]

athlon dual core 2.6ghz, 2g ram
creating an mp3 dvd
total songs - 1200
songs with fades or eq or dynamic mods - 28
trying to render to file (as it fails to burn)
as soon as I press "render" cpu goes to 80%, disk access is high, but after letting it run for 8 hours it showed maybe 1% done then stalls (task manager shows 1.5 million disc accesses)
I've tried several times
disabled all other startup apps, security etc
deleted acoustica.adb
nothing helps
any help would be much appreciated!

Hmm, not sure about this one. What happens if you create a project with just a few files instead of 1200?
