Sometimes the applied fx audio is subtle and it would help if there was visible evidence that fx is muted. In the light version, when the fx boxes are open the on/off buttons turn dark blue, but when the boxes are closed all the fixed fx buttons on the project window stay lavendar and lit up with no apparent change. I hope I explained that clearly. Thanks!
It's obvious if you have "Show Effects on Tracks" selected in the View menu, but I see what you mean if that is hidden. As a workaround, you could select that option.

Thanks Greg.

I'm also thinking of the master track fx as well.

The ability to completely mute notes on the piano roll.

I occasionally find myself trying to work out a complex drum pattern or arpeggio and want to mute certain notes so I can focus on other elements in the same piano roll. Unfortunately, dropping the velocity doesn't always work.

A view for used notes only in the piano roll. I would use the step view, but unfortunately the micro move was switched off there. This is very inconvenient.

It would also be extremely useful if I could simply set a latency of -30 ms on a Midi track, for example. if I want to compensate for latency from a instrument and effect chain.

I would work more with colors, sounds and generated images in the area of plugin groups, plugins itself and instrument presets.

For example :

- Store the default track color within the instrument preset and automatically use it.
- I would also save a short wav sound to the instrument preset and not just an image. Then you can hear the preset before you load it for ages to find out that it doesn't fit in a project.
- Image and color for the category
- generate a default image an color for each vsti and vst.
- add default images for well known vsts like Kontakt...
- let the user generate random images quickly for own vsts etc.
- etc

And then a really cool dialog to present and organize it all :D

This could give the feel of game changing all in this section compared to other DAWs. And it would bind users to Mixcraft for the future. Nobody would ever want it any other way after that

Is there any way to simulate a global volume effect within Mixcraft without having to mess with the track volumes? That would be useful, if possible.

How would that work, Trev? I just want to be able to lower the system volume in relation to the Windows system.

Hi,

The Windows volume mixer can do that. Depending on which version of Windows you’re using, try right-clicking on the volume option in your Windows task bar to find it.

That doesn't work. It has settings for Media Player and apps playing in the Edge browser like YouTube for example. But nothing to control the volume of MIxcraft. I have Windows 11.

The only way I can adjust the Mixcraft global volume is to lower the volume on the Master Track or to lower the volume of the audio interface, which is fine if it is reach. Neither of these options are ideal.

A global volume control within Mixcraft would resolve that. Surely that's an easy fix?

Hi,

If you want that kind of control over relative Windows volume levels, you could use WaveRT.

That's the thing about ASIO: it provides direct access to the hardware. If it started sharing the audio with other drivers and software, then you'd lose the benefits of ASIO.

It's a tradeoff.

I don't really want to move away from ASIO. Would including a global volume control within Mixcraft be a major undertaking?
