Help with Mic/USB interface!

I have been using an M-Audio Fast Track USB Interface and it works when I plug my electric guitar in and records the sound at a good level, but when I try to use the microphone, it barely picks up the signal, even with the volume at max on the interface itself and in Mixcraft...I am currently using a mic cable with a 1/4 end, so it is plugged into the guitar port of my interface, so i don't know if that affects it or not...if anyone could help me figure out why I can't get the volume I need, iI would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Hi,

Does that input have a button that switches it between "Inst" and "Line"? Try it on "Inst."
