One major effect of using Mixcraft 7 is that your caplock key becomes stuck.

If your looking for advice on doing vocal tracks I like to record the vocals with a hardware based compressor and then use the Acoustica compressor, Acoustica EQ, Acoustica reverb and maybe some delay or chorus then put another compressor on all of that.
