Free intro software is a snap, then you have to buy one of the millions of packs offered by NI.w1av wrote:Kontakt player impossible to get

The snare on MT Power Drum Kit 2 is just too irritating for my taste. I did communicate with the developers a year or so back suggesting they modify the software to allow the importation of audio samples. The reply I got back said they were considering it, but it looks like they never bothered in the end.
As for Kontakt Player, I just gave up after being completely baffled by it. It must surely have been designed by someone with severe autism.

Toontrack EZdrummer isn't free, but it has good drum samples and you can add kits.Ianpb wrote:The snare on MT Power Drum Kit 2 is just too irritating for my taste. Comes with Kontakt Komplete Start, which is free. Register for that, and install ONLY Kontakt Player.w1av wrote:Kontakt player impossible to get
Hardly difficult to acquire. It's just a Sample PLAYER, and those are routinely given away (UVI Workstation Player, Halion Sonic SE, ARIA Player, etc.).
Kontakt Player only plays licensed Kontakt Sample Libraries. 99% chance that any free library you find will require the full version of Kontakt.
If you try to edit anything with Kontakt Player, it will fall back to Demo Mode. You won't be able to save anything.
If you're really hard up for instruments, though, Komplete Start is a decent package, and you should check it out. There are some nice sound/loops/one shots in there.

Why only install Kontakt Player? There's a bunch of other useful stuff that they give you for free, Like Reaktor and a bunch of ensembles for that, Guitar Rig, with a variety of usable modules, a couple of standalone effects, etc.
