Waves Plugin disappeared
I updated my Waves plugins last night and plugs that I have used in projects will no longer display in Mixcraft. Is this happening to anyone else? If so what can I do to correct it?

Re: Waves Plugin disappeared
Hi David.
Waves installations can be frustratingly difficult to troubleshoot. The first general rule is don't move or alter anything from the configuration the installer creates. Guaranteed headache!
What plugins specifically are we talking about, and what exactly have you tried? What exactly was updated?
Are they showing up in Mixcraft plug in manager? Are they quarantined in the disabled list?
Have you updated and re-run the Waves installation via the Waves central program? Are your licenses/authorizations etc. showing up there?
I have had a number of struggles with installation and authorization with them. Purchases from outside vendors seem to be particularly aggravating to get sorted out. Sometimes after trying "everything" and swearing off ever buying another Waves plug in I restart my computer, open my DAW and it scans and there they are, like nothing ever happened. Which is frustrating in its own little peculiar way......

None of their VST2s display anything except a black background here. I just use the VST3 ones

Re: Waves Plugin disappeared
That's odd Ian, I have no trouble with the VST2 versions of Waves plug ins, but VST3 versions have assorted issues. A common one is the meters not working as expected.
I am wondering if your problem isn't something to do with an incompatibility between the waves plug ins and your specific system somehow. Perhaps graphics card/driver related or something.

Re: Waves Plugin disappeared
Hi Mark,
yes, I do tend to suffer a lot with display issues on various computers (I'm back to using my HP laptop due to multiple new CPU/motherboard burnouts - isn't life grand) but it wouldn't explain why I get a blacked out GUI on the VST2 plugins by Waves, but not the VST3 ones. I rarely bother with them now anyway as I'm usually busy testing out MeldaProductions ones, amongst others and iZotope RX6

Re: Waves Plugin disappeared
I had gui issues with a few plugs, including a waves and it was the Nvidia graphics card. It took an update to fix issues, but it wasn't quick. Waves are known to be a bit of a pain with their shell and authorization process with some systems, more trouble than their worth for many.

Yep, but I can not deny, a couple of my current very favorite mixing tools are from Waves, so I continue to put up with their install/auth. abuse.

Re: Waves Plugin disappeared
Hey Mark,
Thanks for helping!
F9, H- Delay, L1, Morpher, Renaissance Compressor, UltraPitch are all not working. I did an update of all the plugins that needed to be updated. I needed F9 updated so I went ahead and did them all.
They are not showing up in Mixcrafts manager. They are also not disabled. My licenses and Authorizations are all there. I have updated, re-ran, reinstalled, repaired all from Waves Central.
I am going to try and uninstall everything and re install and see what happens.

There you go!
When in doubt, start from scratch.......
Glad to hear it, now go make some noise.
