Location of VST Plug-in Folders in Mixcraft Pro Studio 8

Hello.

Is the information in the RED block (below) stored in a file somewhere???

My OCD (LOL!!!) dictates that from time to time I reset Mixcraft to Factory Defaults. Problem is that whenever I do this: this information disappears and I have to re-enter it. So am wanting to find out if there is a file (text???) where this information is stored so that one could cut this information from the current file, reset Mixcraft, then go paste it back into the new file, and then re-scan for VST's etc. etc. etc.

Hi,

That's stored in the Windows registry.

You could export it to a reg file, and then run the reg file to put it back if you were technically inclined.

Or, you could just stop restoring Mixcraft to factory defaults.

Sorry. No can do!!! LOL!!!

It seems to speed things up if done from time to time (same principle as washing your car!!! LOL!!!).

Dale.

Have you SEEN that registry key???

You couldn't keep it simple could you (and just store those few lines in a .ini file or something!!! LOL!!!).

Nah. Not playing with that. Best case scenario: have exported the key, will copy the individual relevant lines into a text file, then paste them one-by-one back into Mixcraft.

Regards,

Dale.

P.S. This is not a "Mixcraft Suggestion"!!! It's fine the way it is. Really.

Not designed for people who habitually reset to factory defaults. :-D

I have never. Not once. Since MX4.5 (7+ years ago?) ever reset that.

Nor have I ever felt a reason to do so...….
Maybe I'll try it just to see what happens...…

Nah! 8)

Try it.

I'm telling' ya. It works faster for a good while after that!!! LOL!!!

AND: it clears that "recently crashed" plug-ins box (hate seeing that thing!!! LOL!!!).

Dale.

Maybe you should just reset your audio to factory defaults to save time.

Yip. Reset audio defaults too.

BUT: I'm obviously talking nonsense here. Either that or I did something else different the last time I reset everything. I just reset Mixcraft and those folders are still there i.e. they didn't get wiped out. Sorry. Must have been me.

Oh well. At least we all know where the stuff is stored now!!! LOL!!!

And I got to hear "I Can't Go On This Way" again!!! LOL!!! It loads by default. Haven't heard it for ages.

Regards,

Dale.

Suppose you don't wanna know that I reinstall Mixcraft from time to time too (just refresh the installation)!!! LOL!!!

I'm pretty sure though that this is but one reason I never have corrupt or missing files or stuff like that.

Anyways. Try it. It's right up there (Mark) with being able to hear the difference between 88.2kHz/32-bit and 44.1kHz/16-bit!!! LOL!!!

Regards,

Dale.

Um. What's this box you speak of?
I have a bad habit. Plug-ins crash more than once or twice, on rare occasion, I have a box for them right here by my desk.....
Haven't had much problem with that in quite some time. 8)

Dale I am curious.
With the time spent re-installing, resetting back to factory defaults and writing all your posts + researching on'tinernet when do you find any time to actually record & make music ?

I can only think of insomnia :?

I don't (find any time to actually record & make music) and it's become a problem on several personal levels (more than you can imagine).
Ever see the movie Multiplicity?
I wish.
