Recording into Mixcraft 8 from Web Browser
Hello
Is there an easy way to record from my web browser directly into Mixcraft 8? Say for example if I wanted to snatch some sound from YouTube?
I’ve found out how to do this in audacity (and then save/load into Mixcraft) but it would be great if I could do this directly. Would definitely speed up the workflow.
Thanks
John

Plug the output from another computer, tablet, smartphone, etc into your interface input.

I don’t have an interface. I was wondering if this can be done directly like on audacity.
Thanks for the response.

Hi,
If your computer has a recording source called "Stereo Mix," you would arm an audio track to record from that.
I think that Windows 10 computers no longer offer this option. If you can do it with Audacity right now, what recording source are you selecting? Is that recording source available if you click on the small arrow next to the Arm button on an audio track within Mixcraft?

Hi
I think on audacity it’s called WASAPI (or something similar).
Thanks

Or hide/bury it, and reset it to disabled by default on a whim.....Acoustica Greg wrote:I think that Windows 10 computers no longer offer this option.
Another option- its actually very easy and fast to "borrow" an audio file from Y-Tube, and there are online apps for just that purpose.
You are getting MP3 "quality" audio, but often you can select the file compression scheme and get the same quality as streaming Y-Tube anyway. (which isn't great.....)
* Full disclosure, while I have sometimes used this method to learn a song or something, I don't steal content, don't use anyone elses content in my productions without consent, etc, etc. Just a suggestion.

It's completely gone on my computer as of Windows 10, (or maybe some update to Windows 10), but yes - some people can go into their Windows recording device properties and right-click to show disabled recording devices.Mark Bliss wrote:Or hide/bury it, and reset it to disabled by default on a whim.....Acoustica Greg wrote:I think that Windows 10 computers no longer offer this option.

Re: Recording into Mixcraft 8 from Web Browser
Yeah, I suspect that depends on the specific sound card/driver installed in the computer maybe.
Mine is buried in settings and can be enabled, but its been unreliable and a few days or weeks later, gone again. Tired of resetting it, so rarely use it.

Some people may be able to enable it:
My computer doesn't have a Stereo Mix option, so that's not in the graphic.

Greg, try the download of the Realtek HD audio driver, see if that helps.
Re: Recording into Mixcraft 8 from Web Browser
Nope, stereo mix isn't on my computer... and when I go to Realtek.com.tw all I see is this. Does anyone have a quick link?

You have to translate the site to english, then follow the download links from the main menu. Not sure why this is but there are other software sites that have the download.
Try this

Thank you Tom... Everything is up to date on my computer, and I'm not sure I'll ever need Stereo Mix, but I bookmarked the web page just incase.
