Applying MC8 Skin In MC9

Post by Thomas »

How do we apply the MC8 skin to MC9? I deleted all the MC9 pngs and copied the entire contents of the MC8 folder in C:\Program Files\Acoustica Mixcraft 9\mixrez, but it's not quite right.

Hi,

It's not ready for prime time, it's missing the skin file.

So, Greg you are saying that only part of the skin is in the folder? The b441 release notes say "New version 8 skin". I assumed it was usable. So will it work in b442 then? Thank the team for intending to put the 8 skin in 9.

Hi,

The file wasn't included in the build, so the list of what's in the build has been updated.

Hi,

If you want to try out the Mixcraft 8 theme, download the following file:
ftp://ftp.acoustica.com/AC-Software/mix ... skinV8.zip

Right-click to extract the file and place it into your main Acoustica Mixcraft 9 folder, which for many people, would be here:

C:\Program Files\Acoustica Mixcraft 9\

Oh... Deja vu? Not a member of the OFC, so I didn't get it. BTW, how old do you need to be to gain entry? I may be getting close.

Thanks for the link Greg.

The whole "skins" and GUI/visuals thing has been a long and prickly path Tom.

Partially starting with the stuff in Gregs link, but theres far more too. 8)

And a brief explanation on the OFC thing, its not really age so much. A small group of us who were regulars in the forum a long time ago, who all had been using Mixcraft since about v5 or so- started jokingly calling ourselves the OFC, and it just stuck.
Our mission: helping each other and forum newbies learn together. 8)

Anyway, the v8 skin is brilliant, thanks Greg. I feel a lot less like free-falling through a city in a winged jumpsuit at night now :D :D :D

Hi,

Glad you like it!

Keep an eye out for missing artwork. I noticed that the arm/disarm button for recording into the performance panel was not there.

The progress bar in the 'mixdown to stems' window is invisible, which caused me to think the program had crashed. I just checked 445 and it's the same as it was in 444 when I took the screenshot
