automation of strings after recording?

Post by bman76 »

Hi there,

I'm hoping to modulate the string section (dynamics) in post. I have spitfire in strings and I want to give it more expression like you would with a modulation wheel. Is this possible? I tried to do it with volume but it didn't seem to change anything?

Are you using Mixcraft 9? Page 118 of the manual goes over assigning/using MIDI controllers.

Yes but what I can't find is how to do it after recording. If I'm recording strings with 2 hands I need to add expression after.

Hi,

Select the MIDI clip, then change the Velocity setting to Expression on the Piano Roll, then add some expression commands. Turn of or lower the Piano Roll's snap setting for finer control.
