Hi, I'm new to keyboard playing and I'm having a problem where because of my gentle, slow style of playing, notes often don't sound at all and are recorded as having zero velocity. This is happening on 2 different keyboards and I even have them both set to the softest setting, so that I don't require too much force to play.
Is there any way on Mixcraft or a plugin I could use that would set the minimum velocity output of the keyboards to something more than 0 so that I will always get an audible note no matter how soft and slow I press the keys. At the moment I'm having to use the option of making a 0 velocity range selection after each recording and then dragging the velocity up a little on Mixcraft to make sure each note sounds on playback. I don't really understand why 0 is the minimum velocity anyway as that basically has the same result as no note being played even though the note is still recorded as ON in the data. Who would ever want a note with 0 velocity?
Any way to set a minimum velocity on Mixcraft 9 Pro?

Hi.
Not a keyboard player, but if you left click on the instrument you have loaded, it will bring up this box and you can then adjust the volume there (it normally defaults to centre).

Hi,
The velcoity curve VST in the link is something you could try as well.
https://plugins4free.com/plugin/1414/
Place midiCruve as the first instrument in your instrument chain. In your case, since you touch so lightly, you might want a curve like the below which will raise 0 velocity up to 64 and then linearly increase it from there to 127. This might be extreme but you can of course adjust it to taste and make any other changes. On the chart, from left to right (X values) is the velcoity coming in. The Down to up (Y values) are the velocity that will be output. So if you come in at 0, the chart below immediately raise that to 64. And based on the curve, if you come in at 64, the velocity outputs at 97.

Hi,
And of course, you can select all or some of the notes and then drag the velocity up afterwards.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually ended up finding another vst when looking at the Plugins4free site. It's called VeloScaler and does what I need perfectly!
