Recording in stereo?

Hi,

How do I record, with two microphones, say - one on the right, one on the left - both recording to a single stereo track please?

Using a stereo splitter to join both mics - or would both mics need the two separate sockets in my usb interface [Scarlett] for this to work?

So...

if sound is at the right mic, the stereo signal in Mixcraft should show activity on the right channel, not the left.

And vice versa.

Can this be achieved please?

Thanks!

Hi I think this is your solution. One mic in the 'left' channel and one in the 'right', then select Stereo input.

Yes, two separate inputs on your interface.

Thank you Greg & Trevlyns! :)

The only problem now is that the sound I want, in this instance, is outdoors.

An instant solution is to use a Mixcraft laptop, with double XLR input interface.

Unless there are any portable multi track recorders, which could handle it?

This one has twin XLRs, plus multi-tracking ~ but would it get me two separate recordings - left & right - of one sound 🤔

This is a sound I want in a Mixcraft project
