Helix LT - Control Surface

Post by ste_p0270 »

Hi guys,

I've had my LT for probably 12 months or so now and I seem to be finding something new about it each day!

One thing I can't figure out though is how to carry out basic DAW operations (record / stop etc.) using it
with Mixcraft.

I've watched a few other videos where people are using it to control Ableton and a few others by simply adding
the Helix to the Control Surface. I've gone into Preferences > Control Surface > Add New but my Helix is not in the
list, nor can I seem to add it?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Ste

You'll have to assign the midi manually, there's a video on Mixcraft YouTube page. Not difficult at all.

Thanks for the reply.

I did have a bit of a mess around in the settings on the Helix and could see that the command centre
has options to assign MIDI to various switches / expression pedal etc. Guess I just need to understand
which commands / codes are relevant to whichever feature I'm trying to control.

I'll have a search through the videos to see if i can figure it out.

Thanks again.

Many vst/vsti have easy settings where you click on the button you'd like to control and move the knob/slider and it'll assign. In MC you have to do the midi learn process, which is similar but you don't have to assign each time you use the program.
