The Dumb Question

Yes, they say the only dumb question is the one not asked. So here goes. :D

I’m wanting to make a video about a feature in Mixcraft, using my condenser mic through my Scarlet 2i2 for commentary. I plan to use a screen capture program I have (Movavi) for Mixcraft.

Perfect example, all the Mixcraft video tutorials and quick tips on this page. Are those done using Mixcraft for the mic and if so, how to rig the mic so it won’t disappear from the main MC interface when recording the voice over? Example, when the voice over is around bar 20, bars 1,2,3 etc disappear.

Hope I’m making sense.

It’s Sunday – maybe I go back to bed.

It sounds like you will be using still shots in the movie (not actual video)? So you can put all your stills in sequence in the video track then record your commentary as it is displayed. You can adjust timing of the stills as needed. :D

Thanks Tom, but no, not really.

Take this example of Nate's video where everything is 'in Mixcraft', while he is explaining and commenting. How was that commentary recorded - we don't see any active track.

Looks like he imported a file with video and audio embedded. When Mixcraft imported it recognized the multi audio tracks and set them up. What your watching in you tube is a new video showing the previous video and commenting over the first video. Your not seeing him recording your watching the playback. :D
