Lost your MIDI controler functions?

I recently suffered a crash and lost all my MIDI controller parameters when I reloaded a project.
Worse old projects or a newly opened one also had no response from my controller.
I hated the thought of having to set up all the parameters again so in desperation I rebooted the computer.
Not a shutdown and separate restart but I used the Windows restart function which resets the computer and does not remember the old configuration you normally get with a normal shutdown.
When I opened Mixcraft to the project that had crashed the MIDI controller was working again.
If you suffer this it may be worth trying.
