Love it!

I had rented a 106 back in the 80's to lay down some 'sweet audio experiments', so this is a trip down memory lane especially the factory presets - encourage all MC10 PS users to check it out.

I concur. I also have Roland's Juno 106, which sounds slightly better and has a shedload more presets but a neat little mover nonetheless.

I downloaded this for free a couple of days ago. Never really thought about it until I started reading this thread. I didn't even know it was based on the Juno-106 (which I wasn't even familiar with).

I love it! It's pretty easy to program though I don't know 100% what everything is and how it relates to other controls but I get the idea enough to do a little damage!

Now I've got an 80s or 70s itch...

In that case, you should also check out the Mercury 6 (Jupiter 6), GX80 (CS80), Elka-X (Synthex) and Sines synths. Amazing VSTs!

Here's a little DCO-106 fun excerpt.

All synths are DCO-106. The huge reso-sweep is a little challenging since there aren't separate envelopes for individual oscillators. Couldn't get the growl in the sweep. Should be one or two people that recognize the tune.

The synth as a whole though is remarkably easy to program.

All of the synths are the DCO-106. I programmed about seven presets for this tune:

You're really good at programming the sounds. I don't know much about synths and mainly stick to presets, but very cool. I've recognized all of the sounds you posted in like half-a-second - so they're pretty dead on! But the thing about 80s songs is even a non-synth player like me can participate a bit because alot of the parts just aren't that hard to play with even one finger, and even I can manage that if I'm lucky!

I start out with an existing patch that sort of sounds like what I'm looking for or has an element in it I know I would use - like a swell or an LFO. The thing about this synth in particular is there are so few controls it makes it less challenging than some other synths to program - and it has a pretty decent analogue sound.
