Laggy?
Hi all,
There's no doubt about it, Mixcraft 10, specifically with left or right mouse clicks is laggy compared to Mixcraft 9. By that - without stating the obvious - I mean that I've noticed a delay of about a second after I make a mouse click on a menu etc. before anything happens.
I thought it was me so I fired up Mixcraft 9. I can confirm it most certainly isn't me! Mixcraft 9 responds instantly to mouse clicks; Mixcraft 10 doesn't. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Dave

Re: Laggy?
Hi,
I'm not seeing that here. What's going on while you're clicking? Is Mixcraft processing stuff? Loading loops in the library?

Re: Laggy?
No Greg. CPU is at 1%. System 0%
I made sure that all background processes had completed.
Strange. Now I think about it, it's been laggy since I first installed M10. It's no big deal, but definitely noticeable. I'd rather it didn't do it. Direct comparison against M9 confirms it.
Not that I'm expecting a solution to this!

Re: Laggy?
Hi,
If there's a problem we can fix, we'd like to fix it. The next time you notice it, send us your Mixcraft10-Log.txt file.
Wait until it's clearly happening, then go into General Preferences, click Show Logs, and send us your log file.

Re: Laggy?
Could it be that your video card needs updating? Just thinking back to when I had some graphic issues, that was it.

I noticed the same problem. Clicking on the menus has an annoying delay of 1 second.
In build 570 the problem has been fixed.

Build 570 or 571?
Maybe the problem is back in 571. I haven't had a chance to try the 571 yet.
Edit :
I just tried it with build 571. The delay is gone for me. Then there must be another reason for you. Or I changed something in the options and didn't notice it.

Re: Laggy?
This one's for Greg really.
Just to let you know, with the latest update, the lagging problem I've been experiencing has not improved. I notice no-one else seems to having this problem (they haven't noticed it or it doesn't bother them) so I can only deduce that it's something to do with my system. The problem is definitely off-putting and I'm not sure I can live with it. My OCD is kicking in a bit here
Let's assume it isn't Mixcraft and it's my system: i7 processor (albeit a pretty old one), 16GB RAM, 1GB SSD, MOTU M2. Latest drivers, updates etc.
Can anyone think of anything that could be causing the conflict? Is there any way that having Mixcraft 9 also installed on my system could be playing a part in this? Just to remind you all, it's a situation that when I mouse click menus (and other areas) there's a delay between the mouse click and something actually happening. I've had the issue ever since I installed Mixcraft 10.
It DOESN'T happen with Mixcraft 9. Many thanks
Dave

Re: Laggy?
Hi,
I think we optimized some stuff in that area, but those changes are not in build 574.

Can you post a short video or a .gif that shows your experience?

Re: Laggy?
Hi,
There's just a clear (short) delay when he clicks on a menu, or right-clicks on tracks, but no delay if he right-clicks in the mixer.
I should also mention that having Mixcraft 9 installed at the same time should be no problem, but maybe running them both at the same time could be?

Fair enough Greg thanks. There's hope for me yet then
