OK - More frickin MX10 HASSLES!!!! will it ever end? [SOLVED}

Post by Scythe »

I bought three waves audio plug-ins today and MX10 does not show them.
All my other waves plug-ins are showing and usable except the ones I bought today.

Opened MX9 though and lo & behold! they are all there.

I have rescanned all plug-ins couple of times in MX10, restarted the computer but these particular plug ins do not show in MX10 - no it's not a waves problem because they are showing and usable in MX9

I'm using MX10 build 571
Win 10 32GB

tbh - I'm not impressed at all with the buggy mess that is MX10 at this time.
I do not remember having to come to these forums for so many issues in any previous MX release except this one which has been buggy for me from the start.
Please advise - ty

Hi,

Which ones are they? If you click on the File menu and select Plug-In Manager, do you see the missing plugins in the list? Are they in the unable to load category? Did you allow them to install into their default locations, or did you choose custom installation locations?

Hi Greg -

Redd Consoles, MV2 & CLA Mix down plug-ins

No they do not appear in the plug-in manager list at all - all other waves plug-ins do

Unable to load category shows zero

Default locations through waves central installed on my computer so they should all be in one place

thank you

Hi,

Those are loading for me. Do you have version 14?

Send us your Mixcraft10-Log.txt file.

To find the mixcraft10-log file, highlight the following line and press Ctrl+C to copy it:

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\Logs

Press the Windows Key+R to pop up the Run box in Windows. Click in the Run box and press Ctrl+V to paste in the line from above. Finally, click OK to go to the location of the mixcraft-log10.txt file. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file (and dmp file if there's a new one) along with a brief description of the problem.

I'm also currently using CLA Mix Down in Mixcraft 10. No problems with it so far. Problems elsewhere though, I agree.

Hi,

We added the VST2 folder to to the search path and that somehow made the VST3 ones show up for him also.

My turn. I recently downloaded Waves Kaleidoscope and GTR3. Will not show up in scan. Which folders should I have defaulted?

Hi,

Looking at the log file you sent in for a different problem, you had Waves plugins installed inside your Mixcraft 9 program files folder. Did you allow these new plugins to install to their default locations or did you put them somewhere else? On my computer, the Kaleidoscope and other Waves VST2 files are here:

C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\

Go into Mixcraft's Plug-Ins preferences, click Edit VST/VSTi Folders, and add that path if it's not there. (This assumes you didn't put the new plugins in a custom location).

All VST3 plugins should always go in the following folder (its part of the VST3 standard):

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

If that doesn't help, click on the File menu and select Plug-In Manager. Are there any Waves plugins in the Unable to Load category? If so, you can enable them, click OK and restart Mixcraft.

Otherwise, send in your log file. (General Preferences > Show Logs).

I eliminated that MX 9 folder. The 2 in question do not show up in unable to load. I reinstalled them, but still can't locate the dlls. However, I am able to use API 550 & SSL Comp no problem. Which I downloaded from Waves about the same time. I'll submit a ticket.

So, I located the 2 missing vsts by using another program and checking their properties. Turns out they are in the very same Waveshell as the other two. But for some reason, the first two are not showing up. :(

Hi,

That's exactly what was happening for Scythe, but he didn't have Mixcraft set to search the VST2 file path. Adding that somehow fixed it, even for VST3. Or maybe that was just a coincidence. I'll email you.

Right. I have both set up to be scanned. I even copied and pasted Waveshell in VST2, but no dice. Awaiting your email...

So, the "good" news is that Kaleidoscope & GTR both open in MX9. Obviously, I want them to open in MX 10, but...
