Oh, I just saw this email from the other night from Eric V.
asio4all is causing the crash.
Go to your windows start menu and find Acoustica Mixcraft 10, then click the button labeled "Reset audio to factory default"
And yes, that seemed to fix the problem of it crashing.
Cactus-head, thanks for the suggestions. I've tried 2 different Behringer units. They seem pretty low impact of an energy draw. And they do work when I use the ASIO input setting, but not WAV. It's also a brand new PC with an i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, so it should be very robust. I've certainly used these on lesser PCs & laptops over the years.

Re: USB Audio input not working correctly
Ok. So, I did the "Reset audio to factory default" and it did not crash during startup. But it crashes as soon as I switch to ASIO recording! And, as mentioned in my OP, I can not use WAV (or CoreAudio) recording, because it just blips mono audio every few seconds.
I was able to record a couple vinyl LPs just fine before this started happening. Any thoughts about next steps??
Thanks!
