"Error loading sample data!" in Pianissimo

Pianissimo failed on the install for me. "Error loading sample data!"

If you restart your computer, does it still happen? Can you use Pianissimo at all, or are you only getting this error loading a specific project?

Blank new project. Go to MIDI instrument. Attempt to select Pianissimo. Error window appears....

I also did a reinstall of the Pianissimo standalone with the attempt to reinstall the VST files to the proper folder. Still not working.

Hi,

Pianissimo is looking for the pianissimo.dat file. In Mixcraft 10, this is located here:
C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\VST\Pro Studio

I wonder if you're loading a copy of Pianissimo from a different location? Or if that .dat file is missing for some reason? Your log files might provide a clue. That error has also occurred when there wasn't enough RAM available, but I haven't seen that one in a long time.

You can go into Mixcraft's general preferences and click Upload Log Files, then let us know that you did that so we can check them out.

Hi,

Thank you for sending in your log files, but they don't seem show any Pianissimo errors. The log files say it loaded successfully. At what point do you get the missing sample data error?

Try this:
1. Quit Mixcraft if it's running.
2. Delete the 8.txt file from this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\download_records

3. Start up Mixcraft and check for updates.
