Creative use of Mixcraft - Transcribing music videos

While I am not currently doing any mundane recording work, I found myself using Mixcraft in a creative and unexpected way.
I want to share this with you for your delection.

I recently downloaded a video by a bass guitar instructor who did a feature on an excellent, yet little known bass player. He showcased some of the latter's technique along with a computer generated drum track. He did not tab down all he played, because it was mainly sixteenth notes and this would have amounted to real work I guess.

It was impossible for me to follow what he did in places, it was just too fast.

I loaded the video track into Mixcraft, and I must say, I have never explored this alley on MX, but have done cutting work on other platforms.
Anyway, it was not about video. The audio tracks and the events on it were clearly visible.

I synchronized the project ppm with the audio's speed (which I knew) and slowed it down to half speed (about 65 ppm). I switched the grid to "beats", which perfectly overlayed, and dependent on the zoom factor, there was a nice 16th grid which I could use to pinpoint when he was playing what.
I looped over an area of interest then set markers denoting certain events. In no time I had tabbed out what I wanted to know. Great stuff.

Very kind of you.
I have used bestpractise up til now, but MX allows for much more surgical operations. Also does MX give optical clues that are beyond guessing.
MX's time stretching algorithm is unsurpassed.

The beat grid becomes finer when zooming in, but I stopped at showing 16ths and this was good enough.
