I may have to use an external drive at least occasionally, from a USB hub. Does Mixcraft tolerate such a setup? Has anyone here tried it? Thank you.

In the old days external drives needed lots of power but these days you can even use a good quality thumb drive.
The only danger is if there's a lot of data streaming through the hub you stand a chance of corruption.
If you have a laptop and the drive is too small buy a bigger drive and use a Cloning software to copy your C drive to the new drive.
I did this a year ago using the free Samsung Magician app. Took 30 minutes and I had a new OS drive. Original was 120GB new one cost me $45 is a 500 GB. Black Friday deal are still happening!

Hi.
Samsung Magician appears to be able to scan and prepare any C: drive for what it calls data migration but has to be a Samsung drive it is copied to, which personally I have never tried.

Have just looked at the Sabrent website and apparently their software {Acronis) can do the same thing for Sabrent drives.

Yes I seems to remember the original drive was a different brand. As said above the migration works using any older drives but the new drive needs to be a Samsung. I sort of stick with all Samsungs for my new drives anyhow as the price is right. I also like using the App now and then to check on the condition of all my drives, this is important to me. It will read other drive information but it can't scan and report issues. it only works best for newer Samsung SSD drives. But it can read basic information from even old IDE drives.

A better program for monitoring everything system wise is the free program HWINFO64.

Try doing a web search for it.
