Hello,
I’m in the process of mastering. My song was 4:24 long, but after a fade out, I want the song to end at 4:16. I’ve tried to shorten it by dragging the wav file to that point, but it doesn’t stop until 4:24. I also tried splitting and deleting the excess from the track, and it still keeps going until 4:24. Is there an end marker or an easy way to get it to end where you want it?
Thanks
J

Hi,
Drag and select the area you want to mix down up to your desired end point.
When you go to mix down or render your song and the box opens up to choose name and folder, click the box at the bottom that says "use selection".
Alternatively you can use an external audio editor like Audacity or Sound Forge to refine it.

Cool, thanks!

No problem. Just FYI, this issue comes up a lot on this forum. Apparently there could be unheard residuals that Mixcraft is detecting and faithfully plays them till there ain't no more. Such as reverb tails or similar artifacts.
The idea of an end marker has been proffered and duly noted by the developers.
