Thankfully hardware controller "nektar PANORAMA P1" is supported in Mixcraft since Version 10.5 - Build 618.
But in my configuration it's not working, though everything should be properly installed like supposed.
I followed the Mixcraft user Guide/manual - section (windows): "USING NATIVELY SUPPORTED HARDWARE CONTROLLERS":
>>
• In the upper left corner, click File>Preferences, then select Control Surfaces. In the Type column at the left, click on Add New. When you see the device in the drop-down menu, click to select it.
• If it’s a USB device, select it in the Input and Output columns to the right. If the device is MIDI, select the name of the MIDI interface in the Input and Output columns. If you’re using the MIDI I/O on your audio interface, select it by name in the Input and Output columns.
• Click OK at the bottom of the Preferences window and you’re set!
<<
It's the first option, USB device.
Then nothing happens if I press "play", turn an encoder or move a fader.
I also did a factory reset with the Panorama and reinstalled the latest firmware
After that for a short moment one of the faders did something with any track output but that stopped and not even the "Play" button works.
Then I reinstalled the latest driver for P1, in case the former configuration for reaper blocks or overrote something.
Nothing changed.
To try everything I deinstalled the device in the device manager. I had to restart the computer and plugged the device in. Windows installed its own driver and showed it in the device manager as Panorama P1 (with windows driver). Then I installed the Panorama driver and the divice manager renamed it into Nektar Panorama P1 (with Nektar driver).
Still nothing changed.
To start play with the space button of my writing keyboard works properly.
By the way the P1 worked pretty properly and effordlessly with reaper.
Does anybody has an idea of the cause or uses the P1 with Mixcraft and would tell how installation process in steps went?

The device must first be set up - using CC messages.
Right click the MIDI button (next to preferences) and then 'MIDI learn' There are videos on YouTube - just type 'Mixcraft control surfaces'
Hope this helps.

Re: nektar PANORAMA P1 - does not work
Thanks Trevor.
I'm not 100% sure if I got you wrong, but since version 18.5 build 618 the device is natively supported.
Theres no need for setting it up like any generic device.

Hi,
Check for updates to get Mixcraft 10.5 build 621.
If the problem is happening with build 621, do you see the MIDI In indicator light up at the bottom of Mixcraft's screen when you're using the controls?

Hi Greg,
thanks. Yes I got build 621 before I connected the P1.
And the MIDI In indicator does not react. I provoked it by tapping play several times pretty fast and could see the CPU indicator reacting slightly but the MIDI In stayed dark.

Hi,
If you go into Mixcraft's MIDI preferences, do you see the P1 in the list of MIDI devices? Does it have a checkmark next to it?
When you test this, make sure you don't have any other audio programs running, because they can intercept the MIDI data.

Re: nektar PANORAMA P1 - does not work
Not knowing if it helps but in comparison I tried out an "Arturia mini lab" and set it up as an second natively supported controller type: "Arturia KeyLab Essential 49 MK3".
And it worked, indeed as a MIDI-Keybord but also as a DAW-Controller. Obviously the layout of my device is different from the supported so the knobs and faders didn't match proper but some did anything and die MIDI indicator immediately lit up very active.
While fuddeling around I got the P1 fader 9 (only this one) drive my channel 5! and some encoders drove the panning in some channels to the right, namely turning the encoder to the left and as well to the right drove the channel panning only to the right. Very strange.
And another time when opening the Preferences window the display of the P1 accidentely showed the in Mixcraft edited channel names instead of only numbers, but it didn't react at all - and when I selected something in the preferences, the display changed back to random channel numbers. Also very strange.
Out of my amateurish point of view, it seems that there ist something wrong with the controller script for the Panorama P1 or it's integration in Mixcraft.

Re: nektar PANORAMA P1 - does not work
Hi,
The P1 requires that the MIDI Input and MIDI Output be set to any set except for the first one. The documentation suggests MIDIIN4 (PANORAMA P1) and MIDIOUT4 (PANORAMA P1), but any of the port pairs beside the first should work. When the script loads successfully, the screen on the P1 will say Mixcraft 10.5 at the top and should populate the names of your tracks as well.
Hopefully, that was the issue. If not, perhaps get in touch with us at support and we can figure out why it's not working as expected for you.

Re: nektar PANORAMA P1 - does not work
Hi, thanks!
This (I took in/out 4) changed the screen of the P1 in the moment I also changed the Global Channel (P1 Global Menue), it showed everything like you told. And first the faders, channel switch buttons and four mode buttons (Mixer, Instrument, Transport, Internal) worked but not every other button and encoder. And the show didn't last for too long. After a few moments it stopped reacting at all and the screen switched back to default.
I write you at support.
