Quintuplets, septuplets and nonuplets

Post by Whiskan »

In the piano roll, i couldn't find where to add quintuplets etc, only found triplets. Anyone know a way? If it doesn't work i guess i have to throw it in as an suggestion.

Only triplets are available right now.

You can do it by hand. Each beat of a measure is broken into fractional beats. There are 1000 "ticks" for each beat. For example, double-click an eighth note sitting at the "one-and" and you will see that it triggers at beat 1, fractional beat 500.

To do eighth note septuplets in a 4/4 measure, you would need to take the total "ticks" in a measure (4000) divide by 7 (septuplets) and divide by 2 (twice as many eighth notes as quarter notes.)

This will show you that you need a note every 285.71 ticks to get eight note septuplets. Of course you have to round the number.

So for eighth note septuplets at the beginning of a measure you could click in the notes approximately and then edit each starting time as follows:

Beat/Fractional Beat
1/000
1/286
1/571
1/857
2/143
2/429
2/714

Pain in the ass? You bet!

But it will give you the timing you are looking for.
