I gotta have more cowbell

Post by EL34 »

I had a need for a good cowbell today.
I found one in one of the kits but it was kind of wimpy, even with EQ and reverb.

Eric, got a good cowbell?

Heh heh, funny you came to me for this. I had looked around for one as well, but found nothing that didn't sound cheesy. I tried recording my drummers bell but it sounded bad too. I will let you know if i find one. Maybe I'll go on the hunt tonight.

But then it will have reverb and stuff already on it from their studio session.

Yes and you don't get a long sample with a tail cause that riff is fast and the hits are close together.

Doesn't that have kick drum with it? Maybe I am thinking of the Exodus cover version :-)
You know, I do actually live around a bunch of farms, maybe if I took a laptop and a mic into a cow field.....heh heh

Eric , that cowbell you found is not too bad with some reverb and EQ.

I am sure you could create a better one though.

I used it again the other day so a cowbell is quite usefull.

If I had one I could record it. I have to keep going to my drummers house to get these sounds.
I will try to remember next time we practice.
