Silly question about file management

Before I start taking advantage of features such as boost, normalize or clip, I want to know if my original mp3 files are going to be changed at all or if the normalized or clipped version of the mp3 will be stored elsewhere for purposes of burning the CD.

I would hate for my original files to be changed... :-/

It won't change your original files, it just affects the cd being burned, or new files if you are using the program to convert between file types.
