(Solved)Drum Timing Off?

Post by dubbemiah »

I've used the included drum virtual instrument before succesfull, but now it often feels like the snare beat is off by a split second. Anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

Are you using any kind of effect on the drum? some vst effects cause latency.
Or if you are playing the drum sounds via a midi controller, you might be having hardware latency issues.

Using the standard mixcraft drumset.

You mean a virtual instrument right? Are you sure you are placing the snare hits in the right place?

Yeah the snare is on the right beat. Actually I've solved that problem it seems (or it solved itself?)

I laid the drum track and am now recording the acoustic portion of it. (Mic'ing my guitar with a USB mic. It's a really authentic sound, I must say.

However, when I record it, the first 4 measures don't sync up. The last 2/3 of the song sync up perfectly with the drum beat/metronome.

I almost think I have some kind of hardware causing the latency here. I closed everything but mixcraft, but that first 10 seconds is throwing everything off. After that, it's golden.

Just read some posts to switch to WaveRT.

That seemed to really help.

Thanks.
