Sound "details" not visible once imported

Post by nomad1 »

Hi,

I am quite a new user and have started having some issues.
When i import a .wav or mp3 file into mixcraft I dont actually see any "details" of the sound, just a flat line. The sound plays ok but not being able to see the spikes in the audio makes it really tough to edit anything...

any ideas?

Cheers

If you are not seeing a wav form, then the file you are adding is recorded at an extremely low volume. Try adding a test file like an mp3 or something of a complete song, you'll see the wav form.

One thing you may wish to try --

1. Go into your preferences (File->Preferences), select the General page, and make sure your Temporary Files Directory is valid.

2. Press the Delete Temporary Files button, this will delete your temporary waveform files - perhaps they have become corrupt.

Let us know if that helps!

Mmmm.. the temporary files folder was set up to be looking for an external hard drive that I used for the first few times I played around with Mixcraft...

Re-attached it and this problem along with some others have fixed themselves.

Thanks for the help.
