Acoustica / Mixcraft Downloads Blocked?

Post by Damage Inc. »

Hello,

I just wanted to download some of the Mixcraft-programs,
but when I attempt to, COMODO Secure DNS blocks it and says it's unsafe.
Then I can "disregard" the warning, but it doesn't do much then.
When I try to force the download again, it either shows a half-filled loading-bar in my browser and stalls,
or it lets me save the download to my computer, only it's an empty file of 0kb.

I've reported this to COMODO already, because it's silly to think this website would be unsafe.
But what is still preventing me from downloading anything here?
I mean, even after I "disregarded" the warning from COMODO's Secure DNS.

Greetings

Hi,

Have you tried both download links? Which one is giving you trouble?

Try this one:

Yes, I've tried different ones, also for the older versions of Mixcraft.
It doesn't make a difference...
The link you provided does the same thing.

I don't understand that it doesn't even load the page when you choose the option to "disregard" the warning...

I also tried a different computer, even though the same thing logically happens
as the DNS-addresses are set for every device on the same network of course,
but that doesn't make a difference either, so it's not in the specific computer or browser either.

It's so weird, I've landed on the dodgiest websites which weren't even blocked.

Also, didn't get a reply from COMODO's support (yet).

Hi,

Do you have the latest update for Comodo?

Try this Mixcraft download link and see what happens when you disregard the warning.

Hm, looks like the same thing happens again; just nothing... well, endless loading.

What do you mean by the latest update for COMODO by the way?
This site is not blocked by Antivirus or Firewall, it's blocked by COMODO's DNS-servers.
Because it would be listed as unsafe, but with what reason...

I also found an e-mail now, I'll try and see if I get a reply from there too.

Hi,

I meant that you should check for updates in your Comodo software. I've submitted a "trusted vendor" request to them. If continue to have a lot of problems like this with them, you should consider switching security software.

Well, for the rest I only have COMODO Internet Security Premium,
which is Anti-virus and Firewall and always up-to-date.

But it would still do this if it that package wasn't even installed.
It's because I entered COMODO's DNS-servers into my router.

And no, this is the only issue I've had so far, so won't switch yet.
It's probably just one of those rare strange situations.
I just hope this issue gets sorted out, because it's not right your website is considered unsafe.
I really wonder how it got "blacklisted" in the first place.
So I hope it works out.

Hi,

Comodo is asking for a screen shot of the problem. Can you please submit an Acoustica Support Request and send us one?

Hello

this caused by Comodo SecureDNS
(which block the access to site + crash mixcraft when it's installing too)

the solution is to disable SecureDNS:
