cleaning up the computer (disk space) ?

question for the Mixcraft guys I'm cleaning up things & I do a lot of "Saves" which creates a backup per save. I can get back a lot of disk space by deleting older backups & I'm wondering if Mixcraft (7 or 7.5) has or could have a setting where it could auto delete backups before a...

Re: Adding anew vst in preference

If Mixcraft is already running, it wont see the VST until it is reopened or a scan is run. THIS. although why someone would be downloading a VST while Mixcraft is open is beyond me. for most "simple" VST's I usually download them to c:/downloads,open or unzip them there and then copy just...

Re: Update to build 279

is this the last version before MC 7.5? I'm thinking about reverting to prior 7.5 as I seem to be using a lot of CPU & RAM since that upgrade. here is a screen shot of all the upgrades & their download sizes if that could make a difference. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w247/gypsyseagod...

Re: Need some help with guitar wiring

where did you get the harness? got a link? a pic or make/model of the selector switch would help. as for the pots,Gibson uses the Linear pots for volumes so that might work best for you unless you don't use the tone knobs so they might work better there. it's all personal preference. I prefer 30% au...

Re: Mixcraft's highest quality reverb software?

(...) it appears you are leaping FAR ahead here. This happens to anybody starting out with DAWs: at first, you get flattened with all the possiblities and plug-ins. "Do I need to master all that before I can start?" -helmut and then comes the downsizing phase and after that Mixcraft will ...

Re: DOWNLOADING VST'S

I usually download them as "Save As" in my Downloads folder then Run (open or unzip) them there and copy the .dll into Mixcraft > VST > 3rd Party VST folder. be careful where you download from & never select "Save & Run" because some may download w/ extra junk you don't w...

Re: Mixcraft's highest quality reverb software?

Ok thanks for the insight guys, I am taking into consideration everything you said. For now though, I have a question about what Gypsy said, which was "of course then there's doubling,layering"... I have heard of doubling and layering, but what exactly would ya'll define it as and how/why...

Re: Recommendations for a good set of headphones for mixing?

I've been using Sennheiser HD-280's . You didn't mention if you were looking for open back or closed back. those are good. I have semi-open AKG240'S that I use for everything but vocal or condenser mic tracking. my condensers pick up EVERYTHING including a cockroach farting two rooms away. t...

Re: Mixcraft's highest quality reverb software?

the inclued Classic Reverb works well enough for me on most things but I also like this one- http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=568 http://www.vst4free.com/img/Ambience_3.jpg that said,it's true there is an art to using a combination of reverb, delay, compression,& probably most importantly,E...
