MC7 Step Sequencer

Hi, I have one question about the new step sequencer. (I haven't upgraded to 7 yet)
Is this any closer to the Beatcraft-like interface I've been begging for since it stopped being developed any further?
Thanks!

Re: BBE-SWEET Plug in dont show up in the fx choices

OK, I'm having this same problem. I did the 64 bit first, then removed the directories and installed again using the 32 bit installer. Still not seeing any of the BBE effects. I've gone into preferences and re-scanned all vst folders. Still nothing. I didn't find that line in the vst ignore file for...

Re: Will there ever be a successor or upgrade for Beatcraft?

Reading through all these other comments here. I agree 100%. One of the best things about Beatcraft is that it is built as a "groove editor". Of course I know some people were wondering if Mixcraft could have a Beatcraft feature in it. I see that you added the Studio drums in response, bu...

Re: Will there ever be a successor or upgrade for Beatcraft?

Beatcraft won't get updated, it has been replaced with the acoustica studio drums virtual instrument in mixcraft. Have you tried that? I checked it out, but it seems to be just another midi instrument that you need to play with some kind of Midi controller or write out the parts on the piano roll. ...

Will there ever be a successor or upgrade for Beatcraft?

I love Beatcraft to death, but there are some small annoyances that I'd love to see dealt with. Chief among them, moving the tracks up and down is a massive pain in the butt, having to click "Up One" over and over. Are there any plans to ever improve Beatcraft, or come up with something ev...

Re: exporting tracks as wav???

I never noticed that feature. That's great! Are the tracks saved raw, or with effects?

I use the plugin on the overall project tab when I'm mixing down. I hardly ever use it on individual tracks. I love it.

Make sure that beat match is on. I frequently find that beats that I create in Beatcraft at, say, 120 BPM will show up as 119.994 BPM or some crazy number like that when they hit Mixcraft. Force the beat to be adjusted to the project tempo. Or, what I do is START with a generic BC beat (first file d...

Is metal tighter? Depends what you call metal. If you're talking Zeppelin vs. some of the clockwork-precision stuff of today, I guess so.
But there must be some good old sloppy metal still out there. As long as Lemmy's still alive, I guess...

It's always worked that way. What you can't do is have two copies of Mixcraft open and then copy and paste between them.

That's good to know! I always thought that when you closed a project, your clipboard got flushed.

Try a slightly longer fade out (maybe even 10 seconds), and make sure the volume reaches zero before the music stops. And give it a bit of a drooping curve instead of a straight line.
The comment above about the drums is good advice, too.

Thanks, guys. I discovered later that if I did turn beat matching off, Mixcraft didn't alter the tracks, and they all lined up just fine.
