It appears the pack has the pianos my wife wants and I want the rest.
That would be two desktops.

Nevermind, I sorted it out. It appears that 'Kontakt 2' as Audio Fish see it refers to the full version, not the player. I found that out by looking at DOW 2 which listed the Kontakt player. At least NI have the decency to make things clear with respect to compatibility. The demo's time out after 10...

I've installed the DOW pack and can navigate to the pack and select samples using the Kontakt player's 'file' option but am unable to load it as a library. (Gives me a 'no library found' message despite pointing to the folder. Same is true for Kontakt 3.5 and 4. (Both are players, not full versions)...

Those aiff files are just audio files, like wav or mp3. They are not virtual instruments. You would need a VSTI that supports using external samples for it's sounds, that would be the only way to use them with a midi controller. Something like that exists.
