Recording sounds tinny

Post by DougM »

I have used SIA to successfully record LPs and pre-recorded cassettes. I am now starting on cassettes that I recorded from LPs. Playback and monitoring while making digital recording sounds fine, but digital recordings sound tinny and/or underwater. Tried a pre-recorded cassette and also had poor sound quality. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I think my problem was being plugged in to the microphone input instead of the audio input on the sound card. Doh!!

Yes that could cause a phase issue, which would give you that weird tinny sound.
